Druzhina Winter Schedule

Dear Brothers and Sisters, parents and friends!

I am very glad to reach out to you and to announce that after a long "break" our scouting work begins anew. As many people know, a wonderful Druzhina Scout Ball took place recently and everyone was very pleased. Let's not waste the momentum, but rather let’s keep moving ahead!

Now I want to tell you a little about the upcoming schedule.

A Scout helps his neighbors!

On Saturday 13th November, we are being asked to help with charity work, namely packaging health kits for people in need around the world. The more help we get, the faster we can complete this good deed. The uniform for this event is casual - OPIOP T-shirts, sweatshirts, and jeans.  Also, don't forget to bring a mask with you just in case. We are going to meet at Otrada at 13:00. (385 S. Pascack Rd., Nanuet NY). Snacks will be provided, however please let us know if you will attend so that we know how much to prepare.

Mother’s Day!

On Saturday 4th December, join us to celebrate scout Mother's Day! We will play games, sing songs and treat our mothers and grandmothers (well, godmothers and aunts too!) We will gather at 13:30 in the lower hall at Otrada. Full uniform for this event!

Ski Trip!

On Monday January 3rd, 2022, we once again will have the opportunity to rent the entire Plattekill ski area. Those who remember, last year about 100 people gathered and we spent the whole day together at the ski area. The whole mountain belongs to us on this day. Make plans to join us. It will be a lot of fun and it’s a rare occasion that we can get an entire resort to ourselves. For details please reach out to Michael Chernjawski at

Druzhina Christmas Celebration!

In 2022, the Scout Christmas Celebration (Elka) is scheduled for Saturday January 15th at 14:00 in the afternoon. First, we will go caroling at the Tolstoy Foundation nursing home at Tolstoy Farm (100 Lake Rd., Valley Cottage, NY). Details will be sent closer to the day of the event.

Dear parents and friends! Write these dates on your calendar. We really need to involve the children once again in our scouting endeavors. For two years now our lives have been disrupted by the pandemic – enough already! Let the children know as soon as possible so that they can advertise these scout holidays among themselves on social media networks, and thus attract a large, fun group of their friends .

If anyone has any questions, let me know. I can be easily found either by phone / text (845) 671-0807 or by e-mail:

It's time to get back to work!

Thank you!
